Clarinet Solo

Josep Fuster has always believed in bringing music beyond concert halls. This is why, over the past two decades, he has recorded fifteen compact discs with a varied repertoire, as befits a musician of his stature, constantly evolving and improving.
On Clarinet Solo, Fuster brings together pieces of a very different nature, showcasing a variety of creative approaches to explore the aesthetics of the 20th century and part of the 21st century thought some compositors. Indeed, six of the fourteen compositions on the present disc are first world recordings (Brotons, Rodríguez Picó, Niblock, Olm, Messeguer and Pascual). Those by Olm, Rodríguez Picó, Messeguer and Pascual are dedicated to the clarinettist; and the last three pieces were commissioned by Fuster. In Rodríguez Picó’s Chansons innocentes, Josep Fuster takes the risk of recording himself performing a composition for two clarinets.
