Luciano Berio (1925-2003) is one of the main composers of the European musical vanguard renowned by his works on experimental music. Based on ancient melodies or folk songs of around the world, Berio finds out how to insert them in the new composition techniques and the latest technologies (electronic music). This CD includes four works of different dimensions that allow an overview to his style and production variety: Folk Songs for voice and chamber orchestra, Chemins II which includes electronic items, Sequenza IV for viola and the Opus Number Zoo for wind quintet.
