This recording is a sample of religious music from the XIXth century in Menorca. This music features the European aesthetic tendencies of the moment, the belcanto style even in the religious environment. The works by Menorcan composers are also performed by local musicians, the baritone Lluís Sintes and the organist Tome Olives, and have been recorded in the church of Santa Maria de Maó and played with its magnificent organ.
