Amargos & Vidal. Dues visions contemporànies de la cobla

This CD is possibly a consequence of the previous CD published in 2008 Binomis, as well as a clear sign of dynamism and interest for the cobla ensemble. The proposal innovates again in the style used by its tradition, but is less varied in composers. Its title denies the clichés applied to contemporary music as it shortly describes its contents. The first vision by Joan Albert Amargós, Variants of color, is inspired by the great reference of the world of the cobla Joaquim Serra, and the second one, Simfonieta Concertante, is enriched by a set of four soloists which chatting with the ensemble. The Llegenda de Sant Jordi by Lluís Vidal, a musician far recognized in the jazz environment, is a commissioned work combining cobla & jazz trio.
